STUDIO ASSISTANT | A full time position located in Beverly, MA

Our company is seeking an individual to assist with several aspects of our fine art conservation studio. This position will involve assisting the Lead Conservators with various aspects of painting, picture frame and object restoration, as well other duties related to the operation of our business. You will also be assisting our Lead Custom Framer with all aspects of custom framing.

In addition, you will also be responsible for maintaining the neatness and organization of the studio. This position involves art handling duties including: lifting and moving of artwork of all sizes, some of which are large and heavy; lifting and carrying of artwork, supplies and materials to and from job sites.

Most work is performed in our studio but some work is done off-site. Applicants should be willing to travel to and from job sites as necessary. Prior art conservation and or picture framing experience is desirable but not mandatory.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Lead Conservators with various aspects of Art Restoration Services projects
  • Assist the Lead Custom Framer with aspects of Custom Picture Framing  as necessary
  • Maintain the neatness, organization, and cleanliness of the studio on a regular basis
  • Art handling, wrapping, and storage of artwork
  • Pickup and drop off artwork as necessary
  • Assist with artwork de-installation and installation at customer locations
  • Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of studio supplies, tools and equipment
  • Maintain the organization and neatness of art storage areas
  • Track and maintain adequate levels of materials and supplies

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Have achieved a minimum educational level of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably  within a visual arts discipline
  • Have a definite passion for the Visual Arts
  • Have a good working knowledge of basic art making techniques, such as drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture
  • Candidates should be very good at working with their hands and have excellent two and three-dimensional artistic skills.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing pickup and drop off artwork as necessary
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary

  • Art Conservation experience

  • The ability to identify the style and media of artwork
  • A basic working knowledge of Art History
  • Gilding and toning of picture frames
  • Woodworking skills
  • Digital photography skills

CUSTOMER SERVICE COORDINATOR | A full time position located in Beverly, MA

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, motivated team player team player who is able to handle a wide variety of customer service and general administrative tasks. This is a customer facing position in a high-end cultural business that includes a significant amount of verbal and written communication with customers and other team members.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer telephone calls, screening and routing to appropriate staff
  • Process and track new customer inquiries
  • Enter customer and project data into spreadsheets and database software
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email
  • Regular on-going communication and coordination with other team members
  • Responsible for filing, photocopying and other general administrative tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be an active listening and have excellent telephone skills
  • Familiarity with CRM database systems and practices
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Have a genuine interest in ensuring customer satisfaction
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • A familiarity with types of fine art and fine art terminology is a definite plus
