The print was restored, re- framed with a museum- quality mat board with a gilded bevel and protected with Museum Glass. In order to present the artwork correctly, the mat board margins were increased. Appropriate mat board width is very important. The width is determined based on the artwork, frame style, and mat board color.

The print was restored, re- framed with a museum- quality mat board with a gilded bevel, and protected with Museum Glass. A French style antique reproduction frame with a white panel complemented the artwork well. This custom framing combination made this famous work of art more visible.

After restoration was completed, the painting was framed with an Italian Cassetta frame in a Dutch finish with a wide gilded liner. We created a custom gold shade with green undertones to complement the painting colors. The gilded liner finish was heavily antiqued so it would not compete with the painting. We always select shades of gold after artwork treatment.
Russian Icon- The Icon was restored and protected Private Collection, New York City, N.Y.
“The icon has been in my husband’s Russian family since the 19th century. My husband’s grandmother, Evgenija Esenin, a first cousin of Sergei Esenin, brought it to Serbia, as part of her dowry. The restoration is magnificent, as is the frame Mira picked for it. It is gorgeous, absolutely!!! My husband said he could not have picked out a better frame and the workmanship is beautiful, fully restoring it to its former glory. Thank you so much.”
